January always feels like a whirlwind for me. As a bookkeeper handling multiple companies, I face a mountain of extra tasks that must be completed before the month ends. The pressure and deadlines make the weeks fly by, but thankfully, I have crochet to keep me grounded. After long days of number crunching, picking up my hook in the evenings and weekends helps me relax and unwind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lately, I\u2019ve been working on my 2020 and 2025 temperature blankets<\/a>, and I\u2019m loving the colors I\u2019ve chosen so far. I\u2019m also really enjoying the pattern I picked! My previous temperature blankets used long rows, which became a bit monotonous and bulky to work on. This time, I\u2019ve switched things up, and the process has been much more enjoyable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to my blankets, I decided to make a \u201cHug Shrug\u201d for a dear friend of mine. She\u2019s dealing with a health condition that leaves her feeling colder than usual, and with her birthday coming up in February, I thought this would be the perfect gift. The pattern is from Crista at The Secret Yarnery<\/a>, and I originally purchased it a couple of years ago. My friend doesn\u2019t know about it yet\u2014though if she reads this post, she might have a pretty good guess! I made one for my sister after her husband passed away, and she found great comfort in it, especially during her hospital stay afterward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking of birthdays, my husband just had one, too! Since he doesn\u2019t have much hair, his head gets chilly in the winter months, especially at night. So, I crocheted him another sleep hat, which he absolutely loves!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another recent project was inspired by The Peyton Heart Project<\/a>, which I wrote about last week. As part of that, I crocheted several hearts to share.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And just like that, January 2025 is already behind us! I\u2019m excited to see what crochet projects February will bring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
