July: A New Adventure and Chiefs Fever<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In July, I decided to stop waiting for the perfect time to start a blog. My first post<\/a> went live on July 8, 2024, marking the beginning of this exciting journey. I couldn\u2019t have done it without my daughter, Rio, who helps behind the scenes to ensure everything runs smoothly each week. Thank you, Rio! My husband, Wayne, has also been incredibly supportive, and I\u2019m so blessed to have them cheering me on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also in July, I began crocheting Kansas City Chiefs-inspired items, which I\u2019ve been promoting and selling through my website (shop.bellescrafting.com<\/a>) and Etsy store (BellesCraftingAdv on Etsy<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My stepdaughter-in-law also asked me to crochet a book cover she\u2019d seen online. I tracked down the pattern, and the finished piece turned out so cute! She loved it, and I\u2019m thrilled she\u2019s happy with it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

August: Yarn Stash Diving and Relaxation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In August, I decided to work from my yarn stash and create a project using some gorgeous Expression Fiber Arts yarn. I wrote about the process in my August 12 blog post<\/a>. With some minor health issues cropping up, I took things slower this month and focused on relaxing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

September: Gratitude and Community<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

September was a month of gratitude and connection. I joined the Magical Gratitude Crochet-A-Long (CAL), an 8-week project that focused on mindfulness and thankfulness. I wrote more about it in my September 2 blog post<\/a>, and I found it to be a calming and rewarding experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That wasn\u2019t all I worked on in September! I continued creating Kansas City Chiefs-inspired items, donating some to Strike Out Cancer St. Joe, a local cancer fundraiser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another highlight of the month was taking part in my first Kansas City Yarn Crawl (KCYC)<\/a> with Rio. We met amazing people and even interviewed some for my blog. Local yarn shop owners and talented yarn dyers shared their stories, which you can read about in my posts from September 23 onward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

October: Projects with Yarn Crawl Treasures<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In October, I completed the Magical Gratitude CAL<\/a> and started working with some of the beautiful hand-dyed yarn I\u2019d purchased during the KCYC. One standout project was a stunning infinity cowl made with the 2024 KCYC Colorway, \u201cSnuggle Up,\u201d a collaboration between New Garden Yarns<\/a> and Steel Floozy Yarns<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

November: A Road Trip and New Discoveries<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wayne and I took a road trip<\/a> to visit friends in Sterling, Illinois, in November. While traveling, I worked on a scarf using the \u201cRainbow Brite Sock Set\u201d from Ruthie Jane Fibers<\/a>, another KCYC purchase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the trip, we stopped in Galena, Illinois, where I discovered Yarn in the Woods<\/a> hand-dyed yarn. When we returned home, I crocheted a beautiful cowl and fingerless gloves with this amazing yarn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

December: The Christmas Rush<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

December was a whirlwind! A friend asked me to crochet a blanket for each of her two daughters as Christmas gifts. With limited time, I dedicated every spare moment to completing these blankets, waking early to crochet before work and spending evenings doing the same. The effort paid off when I delivered them on December 23. My friend texted me later to share how much her daughters loved the blankets, making all the hard work worthwhile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
