Can you believe August is already behind us? This month was filled with a mix of temperatures, and my crochet hook stayed busy with both blanket progress and a few fun projects. Let’s dive into what I’ve been working on!
Temperature Blanket Progress

August brought a blend of hot and mild days, and you can really see it reflected in my 2025 temperature blanket square. I love looking back and comparing each month’s square to the ones I made in 2020—it’s like a little time capsule of weather and color. The differences are always interesting, even when the months feel the same in memory.
Projects Completed in August
I didn’t finish a huge variety of projects this month, but I did complete some special ones—including a secret project that has now been gifted! Here’s what came off my hook in August:

- Mini Dozer Dino – I used the Knotted Loveys pattern by Mama Made Minis https://www.etsy.com/listing/1328481282/mini-dozer-dino-knotted-lovey-crochet For yarn, I chose Bernat Blanket in the colorway Dino Egg Dot – how perfect is that? I matched it with coordinating colors for the spikes down his back and tail, and he turned out absolutely adorable.

- Autumn Ghost with Bear Hat – This little ghost from Annie Carraway Art’s https://www.etsy.com/listing/1770732836/18-in-1-crochet-pattern-autumn-ghost was just too cute to pass up. The bear hat makes him more sweet than spooky!

- Ghost with Cowboy Hat and Top Hat – I couldn’t resist making more ghosts from the same pattern set. This time I gave them different hats to mix up their personalities. Which do you prefer – the cowboy hat, the classic top hat, or the witch hat I shared last month?

- Ripple Blanket – This one was extra special! I made a ripple blanket for my niece using Caron yarn in the colorway Rosewood. She was thrilled to receive it as she celebrated a new decade of life.

What’s Coming Next
September is shaping up to be full of more amigurumi fun, plus steady progress on my temperature blankets. I’m also preparing to add more goodies to my Etsy store, https://www.etsy.com/shop/BellesCraftingAdv
It’s never too early to start holiday shopping, especially if you love handmade gifts!
Until next time,
~ Belle
