With the summer sun blazing hot, do you feel like crocheting a heavy blanket or sweater? Speaking for myself, I do not! I’m sure most of you have experienced some intense heat this summer, here in the Midwest we’ve had numerous heat advisories.
Even though it’s hot outside, I still need to crochet daily. It’s a part of my daily self-care, something I do for myself even if the resulting product may be for someone else. As I mentioned in a previous post, it’s how I relax.

Since I opened my online shop (shop.bellescrafting.com) in July, I have been crocheting a lot of smaller projects. These are great to work on any time of year, but they are wonderful when it’s hot. Easy-to-carry portable projects that can be worked on inside or outside are great since you might be able to enjoy the cool morning outside before moving back indoors out of the heat.
I know all my readers aren’t crocheters, but I bet most of you are creators of something. How do you keep inspired to create during the hot, summer months? Do you use brighter colors? Do you choose a vacation theme like lakes or beaches? Let me know in the comments.
Until next time,
~Belle
