June 2025 Crochet Updates

Can you believe how fast June flew by? Seriously, one minute I was finishing up my May projects, and the next, we were in full summer mode! The days are long, the heat is real, and my crochet hook has barely had a break. I’ve been trying to stay cool while stitching up a storm, and I can’t wait to show you what I’ve been working on.

Temperature Blanket Progress

Let’s kick things off with my temperature blanket, what a journey this project continues to be! June brought some serious warmth, and my squares are filled with bold, dark shades. I love seeing the palette shift from spring to summer.

One of my favorite things has been comparing this year’s squares to the ones made for 2020. It’s amazing how the weather has changed over the years. Can you spot the differences? Let me know in the comments.

Amigurumi Parade

I’ve been diving into more amigurumi lately, and I like how satisfying these tiny projects can be! Here’s a roundup of what I crocheted in June:

  • Rubber Duck for Rio – This little cutie came from this YouTube tutorial and turned out so sweet. I used Just Chenille yarn, and it worked perfectly.
  • Clever Capybara – An adorable critter from No-Sew Mini Amigurumi by Genna Tatu. I crocheted this as a birthday gift using Just Chenille yarn. So soft and squishy!
  • Terrific Turtle – Another sweet critter from Genna Tatu’s book. I used Bernat Blanket yarn for an extra cuddly finish.
  • Hanging Snake Plant –  A fun mash-up of a few different patterns. I made this for a friend to hang in her new car. I used worsted weight acrylic so it wouldn’t be too big for her rearview mirror. I love how it turned out!
  • No-Sew Chunky Possum – Sent along with the Capybara as part of a birthday gift. I used the pattern by StringyDingDing. Chunky yarn + possum = absolute perfection.
  • Strawberry Cow – When I saw the Low Sew Cow Plushies by Annie Carraway Art I knew I wanted to make a strawberry cow using Bernat Blanket yarn. She turned out even better than I expected! She is sweet enough to eat, but please don’t.
  • Black Cat – Crocheted using the Max the Market Kitty pattern by The Cozy Buckeye. I gifted this one to a sweet young lady for her 21st birthday. I used Premier Basix Chenille Brights yarn for this one.
  • Dumpster Fire – Because sometimes, you just need to crochet a tiny dumpster fire. I used Just Chenille yarn and the pattern by @KnottingHookCrochet. I made it for a friend going through a rough patch. It made her laugh, which was exactly what I was hoping for.

Each of these projects brought so much joy, whether it was for gifting, decor, or just a bit of stress relief.

What’s Coming Next

I’m planning to dive into some more amigurumi projects and will continue with the temperature blanket projects.

As always, I’d love to hear what you’re working on! Are you stitching something seasonal or tackling your stash with things you already have? Drop a comment or tag me in your projects so I can cheer you on.

Until next time,
~ Belle
