Embracing the Long Weekend for Rest and Rejuvenation

I shared with you in my August 19 post that I haven’t been feeling well due to some mild mental and physical health issues. While I’m still not feeling my best, I did go on a long weekend with family to Mozingo Lake recently.

While there I was able to show family members items from my online store in person! It’s a wonderful feeling to have family and friends give you encouragement when starting a new endeavor. Although I have been crocheting for a few years, I only opened my online shop in July. Prior to that, I only crocheted items for gifts for those I’m close to.

Wayne and I spent time on the deck of the cabin we were staying in and watched the sun come up while everyone else was still sleeping. I love the colors of the sky as it wakes up for the day, and the water is so calm and peaceful. Listening to nature wake up when everything is so quiet and still is particularly good for the soul – at least for mine.

My sister-in-law ordered a crossbody bag, so I made that for her over the weekend. She isn’t going to be attending any Chiefs games, but wanted it for bingo nights when she and her husband camp with friends on Truman Lake, so I made hers a bit larger to accommodate her needs.

We built a fire in the fire pit, roasted marshmallows and made smores! Watching the flames flicker and dance is mesmerizing. Once we were back inside, a short game of Dominos kept us entertained until bedtime. It was a beautiful evening with family and friends!

Even though I wasn’t feeling well, the weekend with family and friends was just what the doctor ordered. I relaxed, crocheted, napped, and genuinely enjoyed spending time with everyone there. I appreciate each and every one of you for being with me through this journey. I’m looking forward to our next Mozingo weekend adventure!

Thanks for spending time with me today!

~ Belle
